English / British & Irish Studies

Anglistik

  • Anglistik is the official journal of the German Association for the Study of English (Deutscher Anglistenverband) and is published three times a year by Universitätsverlag Winter. The journal's focus is on innovative scholarship into all areas of English Studies - from Postcolonial Studies to inquiries into ESL-Teaching. It is a Diamond/Platinum Open Access publication - meaning neither the author nor the reader has to pay for access to the publication.

The International Review of Scottish Studies 

  • IRSS is the official journal of the Scottish Studies Foundation and is published by the editorial board via PKP/OJS once a year. The journal is dedicated to a wide range of Scottish Studies scholarship including, but not limited to, history, culture, literature, religion, and the diaspora. It is a Diamond/Platinum Open Access publication.

American Studies

Amerikastudien / American Studies: A Quarterly 

  • Amerikastudien / American Studies is the official journal of the German Association for American Studies (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Amerikastudien) and is published four times a year by Universitätsverlag Winter. The journal welcomes scholarly submissions on all areas of American Studies, including literary and cultural criticism, media, history, political science, linguistics, and pedagogy. It is a Diamond/Platinum Open Access publication.

Australian Studies / Australienstudien

Zeitschrift für Australienstudien / Australian Studies Journal

  • ZfA/ASJ is the official publication of the German Association for Australian Studies (Gesellschaft für Australienstudien) and is published once a year by the editorial board on their official website. Back issues have also been archived in TheStacks. The journal publishes research articles and reviews that investigate literary, cultural, geographical, political, sociological, as well as economic dimensions of Australia and discuss its current and historical relations to Europe. It is a Diamond/Platinum Open Access publication.

  • On_Culture aims to provide a platform where key concepts and methods to the study of culture can be investigated, problematized, and developed. The journal is edited by the International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture at Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen and is published twice a year.

Gender Forum: An Internet Journal for Gender Studies

  • Gender Forum explores gender-related topics in the fields of literary and cultural production, media and the arts as well as politics, the natural sciences, medicine, the law, religion and philosophy. Beate Neumeier from the University of Köln is the general editor of this quarterly. It is a Diamond/Platinum Open Access publication.

Textpraxis: Digitales Journal für Philologie

  • Textpraxis publishes scholarly articles as well as more open formats that engage with all aspects of literary studies and its practice. It is edited and published biannually by the Graduate School Practices of Literature at the University of Münster. It is a Diamond/Platinum Open Access publication.

Mediaevistik

  • Mediaevistik publishes articles on research methods and results dealing with studies within the different categories of the Middle Ages thus offering a forum for studies in all other important European languages - including English.
